Touring and Dancing

Most Morris sides usually hold an annual event involving a weekend or day of dance with other sides invited from around the country. This is a great social occasion where lasting friendships are made, based on a love of music and dance and shared experiences in campsites and village halls.

These days Glory of the West  hold just one day of dance  in September.  We invite local sides and maybe some from further afield and spend the day dancing at venues in and around Exeter. We have explored the riverside village of Topsham, danced in the vibrant quay area of Exeter and been to the seaside at Teignmouth.

2016 was our 40th anniversary so we  planned a special day that involved trains and lots of dancing followed by cake, plus we managed 40 events altogether through the year.  So in 2017 we are taking a break as we have had a very busy year but watch this space just in case!

We would like to thank all the lovely people who have joined us for past tours and who have invited us on theirs.
